PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To source, compile & build a balanced range of Toys and stationery. The commodities selected must contribute to the profit margin and price points of Pep, in accordance with the departmental directive. Sourcing these items at the best price, enabling customers to find excitement and value for money is critical. It is vital that product ranges are on-trend, relative, and represent the must-have for every season.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supplier management (sourcing, negotiating, and loading)
- Range selection and building (product sourcing, price tiering & range development)
- Collaborate closely with all the relevant departments to create balanced assortments.
- Budget & GP management
- Product order management (Administration)
- Good understanding of trends & consumer insights
- Close collaboration with planning to support product intent in stores
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant Degree or Diploma (e.g. Clothing / Purchasing Management)
- Computer Literacy (MS Office)
- Creative, eye for detail, analytical and problem-solving
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a fully-fledged buyer with experience in Toys and stationary would be beneficial.
- Competencies required: Accuracy, Directing, Negotiation, Results-oriented, Persuasiveness, Commercial Drive, Initiative, Analysing and forming opinions.
